Michael Sweeney, chairman, Ballinrobe New Town Hall committee, has thanked all who helped to make the recent public consultation process a success.
Speaking at a meeting of the committee last week, Mr Sweeney said a large number of written and verbal submissions had been received, and these were now being considered as part of the final plans.
“The public consultation process saw large numbers of people view the outline plans, and we are very encouraged by the support and enthusiasm shown. The involvement of the community will be crucial in making this project a success,” he said.
“There is clearly a huge interest in having a town hall facility in the town. We are now moving onto the next phase where we finalise our plans for the formal planning process.”
In particular, he thanked Canon Conal Eustace, Anthony McCormack, Liz Kelleher and students of Ballinrobe Community School, Dymphna Culhane, TACU, Ballinrobe Credit Union, Donal McCormack and members of the media for their support.
