The Wilde River Drama Group, Ballinrobe, have donated €1,000 to the Campaign to Rebuild Ballinrobe Town Hall, bringing to €2,500 the group’s total contribution to the fund-raising effort.
The latest donation follows their sell-out play Kings of Kilburn High Road, which they staged in The Neale Hall in October.
“We are very grateful to all involved with The Wilde River Drama Group. Last year, they gave us €1,500, and this latest €1,000 donation indicates the depth of their support for the rebuilding of the Town Hall,” said Michael Sweeney, chairperson, Town Hall.
“Their staging of Kings of Kilburn High Road was very popular. As a relatively new group, they have already built up an excellent body of work and we look forward to the day when they can stage their shows in Ballinrobe Town Hall.”
The proposal is to build a hall with a gross floor area of 1000m2. It will consist of an auditorium and main hall area with seating for over 400 people.
